IELTS writing task 2 essay sample answer: Family and Home


It is commonly believed that when young people reach a certain age, they should either continue to reside with their family or move out and live independently. While some parents encourage their children to leave home, others suggest that they should stay at home. This essay aims to discuss both views and provide an opinion on the matter.

Body Paragraph 1 – Advantages of Leaving Home:

On one hand, there are several advantages to leaving home when young people become older. Firstly, it allows them to gain independence and develop essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, and cleaning. Secondly, living on their own can provide them with a sense of personal freedom and responsibility. Finally, they may have the opportunity to experience new things and meet new people, which can broaden their horizons and help them develop as individuals.
